Juanita L. (Lawrence) Harrell, 81, of Altha, FL, passed away Friday, January 17, 2014, at her home after an extended illness.
She was born to Lucious and Cecil Lawrence January 7, 1933, in Geneva, AL. She married her husband, the love of her life, Jerry C. Harrell, on March 7, 1951 in Bainbridge, GA. They lived in numerous places over their almost 63 years of marriage, including 23 years when Jerry was in the Navy, returning to live in Altha in 2007.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucious and Cecil Lawrence; one brother, Clarence Lawrence; and her twin sister, Armeta Miller.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry; two children, Wayne Harrell and wife, Andrea, and Sheryl Marques and husband, Edward; four grandchildren, Lia, Jessica, Nicole and Edward, Jr.; four great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Edna Ruth Shiver, Dorothy Prescott and husband, James, Vicki Tonda and husband, Jim.
Services will be held at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel in Blountstown on Tuesday, January 21, at 11:00 am (CST) with Pastor Jim McIntosh of Altha First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery in Altha. Visitation will be Monday, January 20, at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel from 3:00 until 5:00 pm CST. In lieu of flowers, contribution can be made to Emerald Coast Hospice, 4374 Lafayette Street, Marianna, FL 32446.
