Early Wimberly

Early “Pank” Franklin Wimberly, age 79, of Pearl, Mississippi passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014. Mr. Wimberly was born January 25, 1935 in Jackson County, Florida to the late Henry Franklin Wimberly and Ruth Abigail Wimberly. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and later he worked for many years as a truck driver for Sears. He lived in Rankin County, Utah for several years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and southern gospel music. Mr. Wimberly was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Pearl. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vicki Lee Wimberly; three brothers, Jim, Harry, and Cleve Fiveash; and brothers-in-law, Richard Lancaster and Edward Ramsey. Survivors include his daughter, Tami Wimberly Ham and her husband, Kiley of Brandon, Mississippi; grandchildren, Abigail Nicole Ham, Jacob Adam Ham, and Mary Elyssa Ham; two brothers, Tom Fiveash and his wife, Miriam of Marianna, Florida; Johnny Wimberly and his wife, Annette of Mexico Beach, Florida; and two sisters, Myra Lancaster of Port St. Joe, Florida and Ruth Ramsey of Austell, Georgia. The family will receive friends 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 9 at Adams Funeral Home in Blountstown, Florida. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Adams Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Altha, Florida. Memorials may be made to the Children and Youth Ministry of Colonial Heights Baptist Church, 444 North Park Street, Ridgeland, MS 39157 or Eastside Baptist Church, 3464 Patterson Drive, Pearl, MS 39208.
