Calvin C. Langston, age 88, of Smith Creek, Florida passed away Saturday, September 6, 2014 in Tallahassee, Florida. Calvin was born in Perry, Florida, April 8, 1926, to the late Wade Hampton and Nellie Mae (Whiddon) Langston. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army from 1945 thru 1947 and later retired from MR&R Trucking Company as a truck driver after twenty-six years of service. He was a member of Mt. Elon Baptist Church in Smith Creek and he was an avid hunter and fisherman. Preceding him in death were his parents; his daughter, Donna Langston Fairbank and a brother, Curtis L. Langston. Survivors include his wife of sixty-five years, June Langston of Smith Creek; three sons, Mark Langston and his wife, Carol of Crawfordville, Florida, Greg Langston and his wife, Patsy of Dothan, Alabama, and Bruce Langston and his wife, Dana of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends 10:00 a.m. ET, Tuesday, September 9, at Mt. Elon Baptist Church in Smith Creek. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. ET in the church with Reverend Gordan Beal officiating. Interment will be in Smith Creek Community Cemetery.
