Norma Donna Christiansen Bridges, 90, of Blountstown, Florida, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2014, surrounded by her family.
Ms. Norma was born January 7, 1924 in Platte, South Dakota, to the late Charles Joseph and Leah (Cole) Christiansen. At the age of 13, she made her profession of faith in the first Presbyterian Church of Kimball, South Dakota. Norma was a 1942 graduate of Chamberlin High School in South Dakota and later moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming. She lived in Blountstown 64 years and was an Avon Representative for over 30 years. Ms. Norma was a member of First Baptist Church and worked in the church nursery for over 30 years.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two sons, Alan Thomas Bridges and James ‘Jim’ Reed Bridges; a son-in-law, Richard Neves; and a sister, Ruth E. Pilker.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Sue Neves of Blountstown and Grace Donna Barfield and her husband, Bobby, of Palatka, Florida; grandchildren, January Jones, Bridgett Jones, Leigh Ann Baya and her companion, James Hubner, Susan Mullis and her husband, David, and Brian Barfield and his wife, Amanda, Michelle Brown and her husband, Stacey, and Andy Bridges; 13 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Bridges; two nephews, Bill and Jim Pilker; and a cousin, Father Basil Cole of the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D. C.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 25, at Blountstown First Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Tim Rhoads officiating. The interment will be in Boggs Cemetery in Blountstown.
