Nettie Ada Rankin Revell, age 90, of Bristol, Florida passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015 in Blountstown, Florida. Ada was born in Bristol March 14, 1924 to the late Alto T. and Nettie (Forehand) Rankin. She was a graduate of Blountstown High School; earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Florida State University and a Masters from University of Florida. Ada was a teacher in Wewahitchka, Florida, Liberty County and Hilliard, Florida; supervisor of Adult Education in Nassau County, Florida and Principal of Hilliard Jr./Sr. High School. Ada and her husband Melton were recently honored at a ceremony where a bronze plaque was erected noting their combined eighty years of service to Hilliard Jr./Sr. High School. Hilliard Jr./Sr. High School was their life’s work as well as their sincere love and passion. Although currently residing in Bristol, the people and community of Hilliard were forever in their hearts. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of sixty-two years, Melton Golden Revell; and her brothers, Edward Rankin, Jr., William H. Rankin, L. Cloyce Rankin, and Forehand and Hester Rankin. Survivors include her son, James Forehand Revell of Denver, Colorado and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held at Lake Mystic Cemetery in Bristol, 9:00 a.m. ET, Tuesday, February 24, 2015 with Reverend Jerry R. Chumley officiating.
