Gladys Estelle Austin, 96, of Blountstown, Florida, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015, in Panama City, Florida.
She was born in Grangerburg, Alabama, October 2, 1918, to John W. Culver and Mary S. (Flockhart) Culver. Gladys was a homemaker and was a member of Gateway Baptist Church in Blountstown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Charles Austin; three sons, Robert C. Austin, Jr., James F. Austin, and Wade Austin.
Survivors include sons, Ralph C. Austin and his wife, Sherri, of Lake Talquin, Florida, and John W. Austin and his wife, Sharon, of Blountstown; her daughter, Jane Chaffin, of Marianna, Florida; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Johnnie Mae Enfinger of Enterprise, Alabama, and Thelma Strickland of Dothan, Alabama; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 9, in Cottonwood Cemetery in Cottonwood, Alabama, with Johnny Strickland officiating.
