OBITUARY – McCoy

Sharron Dean “Mac” McCoy, 79, of Tallahassee, Florida, and formerly of Bellevue, Washington, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015, in Tallahassee.
Born on a farm April 11, 1936, in Hansen, Idaho, Mac was the son of the late George Lee and Matilda (Stuhlberg) McCoy. He was a graduate of Hansen High School in 1955 and later served in the United States Air Force where he received airline cadet training in Marianna, Florida. It was there that he met Elizabeth Peacock of Altha, Florida, and they married in August, 1959. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington in 1967 and earned additional degrees at Northwestern University in 1970 and Seattle University in 1972. Mac was a mortgage banker, student, and lecturer at numerous mortgage industry sponsored events, and in his spare time he enjoyed his grandkids, traveling, woodworking, and gardening.
Mac is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth “Liz” (Peacock) McCoy, and one daughter, Melody Carney, the loves of his life, as well as Melody’s husband, Jim Carney, and his grandchildren, Alaina Carney and Tristan Carney, all of Seattle, Washington; two brothers, Gerald McCoy of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Roland McCoy of Puyallup, Washington; and a brother-in-law, Bill Peacock, and his wife, Chris, of Altha.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lee McCoy and Robert McCoy.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 2, in Chipola Cemetery in Altha with Reverend Jim McIntosh officiating.
