Mr. Gerald Wayne Skipper, Sr., 72, of Grand Ridge, FL, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015, in Kinard, FL.
Gerald was born on December 22, 1942, in Bay County, FL, and had lived in Grand Ridge since 1987, coming from Forest, MS. He worked with International Paper Co. for over 30 years as an auditor. Gerald received his Bachelors of Science degree in accounting from Florida State University. Gerald was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict serving in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Mack Skipper and Pearl “Warren” Skipper; brother, Charles Skipper; and half-brother, Ray Warren.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Skipper, of Grand Ridge; one son, Gerald (Gerry) Skipper, Jr., and his wife, Kelly, of Blountstown; two daughters, Andrea Hunter and her husband, Clay, of Marianna, and Sandi Kimbrel and her husband, Jonathan, of Blountstown; three brothers, Johnny Skipper and his wife, Wanda, of Kinard, Tommy Skipper and his wife, Linda, of Wewahitchka, and Reggie Skipper and his wife, Michelle, of Kinard; two sisters, Evelyn Rushing and her husband, Lucious, of Kinard, and Joyce Greene, also of Kinard; eight grandchildren, Cole and Kyle Skipper, Austin, Braden and Coben Hunter, Emma, Nathan and Zeb Kimbrel.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 19, at 11:00 am (CDT) at Rivertown Community Church with Pastor Claude McGill officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 18, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel.
