Jay Weldon Parrish, 33, of Clarksville, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015 at his home. Born January 22, 1982, in Panama City, Jay was the son of Weldon D. and Sheila (Smith) Parrish. He was a graduate of the Blountstown High School Class of 2000 and was a member of Travelers Rest Free Will Baptist Church in Clarksville. Jay was a correctional officer at Calhoun County Correction Institution and played lead guitar for two bands, Stray Bullet and Burn this Down. Jay was preceded in death by his grandfathers, J. B. Smith of Clarksville and Durward Parrish of Red Oak; and a cousin, Chad Parrish. He is survived by his wife, Blair Bozeman Parrish, and step-daughter, Bailee Rae; his father, Weldon Parrish, of Red Oak; his mother, Sheila Parrish, of Clarksville; his brothers, Cody Parrish of Red Oak and Kyle Parrish and his fiancé, Samantha Culpepper, of Red Oak; his grandparents, LaVaughn Smith of Clarksville and Gwen and Houston Deese of Red Oak; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. The family welcomes all to celebrate his life at 5:00 p.m. CT, Thursday, July 2, at the Walden Chipola River Pavilion, 13851 Sand Cut Trail in Altha.
