Betty Dawson, age 71, of Bristol passed away Thursday, March 17 in Blountstown. Born in Fruitdale, Alabama, November 12, 1944, Betty was the daughter of the late Isaiah and Dixie Lee (Hicks) Hare. She lived in Bristol most of her life and was a cook at Apalachee Restaurant for many years. In addition to her parents, Isaiah and Dixie Lee Hare, Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Sarah Jane Yon and four brothers, Hillry Jones, Billie Garland, Charlie Garland, and Isaiah Hare, Jr. Survivors include her son, James Jefferson Pullam; two daughters, Rene Grande and her husband, Juan, and Deborah Ann Chambers, all of Bristol; six grandchildren, Karen Moran Sanchez, Angie Mendez-Carranza, John Grande, Jessica Anderson, Brianna Grande, and Roy Morefield; nine great-grandchildren, Dustin Gillenwater, Joseph Martinez, Ana Giron, J. T. Yon, Julianna Anderson, Steven Anderson, Gabby Moctezuma, Daniel Mendez, and Oppey Mendez; a brother, John Hare of Alabama; four sisters, Lavon Sumner and Darlene Smith, both of Bristol, Willie Reynolds of Alabama, and Jane Carpenter of Mississippi. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. ET, Sunday, March 20 at Adams Funeral Home in Blountstown. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. ET, Monday, March 21 in the Chapel of Adams Funeral Home in Blountstown. Interment will follow in Lake Mystic Cemetery in Bristol.
