FALL REGISTRATION PROCESS
for Calhoun County Schools
2014-15 School Year

(Early Learning Coalition staff will be on site at civic center issuing Fall VPK Certificates)
10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M.
Child must be 4 years old by September 1, 2014 to qualify for Fall, VPK.
Procedures for requesting a VPK slot for your child within the Calhoun County School District for the 2014-15 school year:
*Please note: Calhoun County will be offering a full school year, full school day program for a fee of $ 50.00 per week. Three (3) instructional hours will be provided at no cost. The extended VPK school day will cost $ 50.00 per week. It is not mandatory that your child stay for the extended school day.
STEP 1: Visit the W. T. Neal Civic Center in Blountstown on April 8th between the hours of 10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. to get a VPK certificate for your child. Early Learning Coalition staff will be on site at the civic center to issue VPK certificates. Be sure to bring your child’s birth certificate, parent/guardian’s photo ID, and proof that the parent is a Florida resident (i.e. – driver’s license) with you to the civic center. Only the parent or legal guardian will be issued a VPK certificate.
STEP 2: If you want your child to attend a VPK Program through one of our school providers in Calhoun County you must: Immediately take the VPK certificate to the Calhoun County School Board, Special Programs Office, located at 20448 NW Pennington Avenue, Blountstown, FL. The Special Programs Office is located beside the football field.
STEP 3: Limited VPK slots are available through the Calhoun County School District. The VPK slots are filled on a first come, first serve basis. You must sign a VPK contract with the district to place your child’s name on our list. (*School district employees are given first choice to VPK slots at school sites for two weeks only through 4:00 p.m. on April 22, 2014*)
STEP 4: If you are unable to get a VPK certificate for your child on April 8th, you may visit the local ELC office on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month between the hours of 9:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M. to get a VPK certificate. You must take the VPK certificate to the Calhoun County School Board, Special Programs Office, located at 20448 NW Pennington Avenue, Blountstown, between the hours of 8:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M., Monday – Friday. The Special Programs Office is located beside the football field.
STEP 5: On or before June 30, 2014, you will be notified by mail whether your child is able to attend the VPK school year program. The number of available VPK slots depends on the PK Handicapped student enrollment.
DO NOT TAKE THE VPK CERTIFICATE TO THE SCHOOL SITE!
SCHOOLS WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY CERTIFICATES ON SITE!
