Mrs. Lila Mae Walden, 98, of Blountstown, FL, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014 in Blountstown.
Lila was born on September 30, 1915, in Frink, FL, and had lived in Calhoun County for most of her life. She worked as a tomato packer for a number of years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Blountstown.
Lila was preceded in death by her parents, James Walter and Alice Elizabeth (Summerlin) Griffin, and R. A. Walden; two daughters, Nancy M. Simmons and Nella Faye Hardison; four sisters, Nora Kirkland, Lula Jane McCoy, Elsia Mae Pippin and Alice Kelly.
Survivors include her son, Robert Walden, and his wife, Renee, of Blountstown; one brother, Daniel Griffin, of Port Saint Joe, FL; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 12, at 11:00 am CDT at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Francis Carlisle officiating. Interment followed in Cypress Creek Cemetery in Kinard.
All arrangements were under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown (ph. 674-2266).
